Jason Voorhees Masks
Jason is a fictional character from the Friday the 13 series of slasher films. He first appeared in Friday the 13 (1980), as the son of camp cook-turned-murderer Mrs. Voorhees, in which he was portrayed by Ari Lehman. Created by Victor Miller, with contributions by Ron Kurz, Sean S. Cunningham and Tom Savini, Jason was not originally intended to carry the series as the main villain. Jason Voorhees has also been represented in numerous novels, comic books, and a crossover film with another iconic horror film character, Freddy Krueger.
Many years ago, a small boy, Jason Voorhees, drowned on “Friday the Thirteenth” while attending summer camp at Camp Crystal Lake. The camp was shut down after the incident, but has recently been re-opened by a group of would-be counselors.
While preparing the camp for the summer season, the counselors have begun to disappear, as a murderer attempts to stop the rebirth of Camp Crystal Lake.
Jason Voorhees Costume
This Friday the 13 costume will have everyone around you thinking they have been transported to Crystal Lake. The costume comes with Jason’s Deluxe EVA Hockey Mask, which is composed of a light foam rubber. It has screen over the left eye. The mask fits most adults. Also included is a jacket with a faux shirt sewn inside.
If you cannot find a costume you like, you can just use some old work clothes, boots and gloves. Cut or tear the shirt up a bit to make it look old and ragged. However, do not forget the all important hockey mask and a machete.
Jason has used just about anything and everything to kill his victims with at Camp Crystal Lake and elsewhere. However, we think that a blood-splattered machete is probably what he is remembered for the most.
To the right are just a few of the weapons Jason has used including a plastic replica machete. The machete features dried blood and the words, “Property of Camp Crystal Lake” printed on the handle. This machete prop measures 21 inches long.
The character has primarily been an antagonist in the films, whether by stalking and killing the characters, or acting as a psychological threat to the lead character, as is the case in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. Since Lehman’s portrayal, the character has been represented by numerous actors and stuntmen, sometimes by more than one at a time; this has caused some controversy as to who should receive credit for the portrayal.
